Luzonne is a certified Mama Nurture Bereavement Doula, a Mama Bamba birth doula and a registered member of Patch SA (Palliative Treatment for Children). After she experienced a miscarriage in 2011, Luzonne realised how these losses are marginalised and often not grieved at all. Society frequently puts pressure on parents not to mourn the loss of a child that they never had the opportunity to meet. However, a pregnancy loss not only means the loss of a baby, but also the loss of a future with that child. Due to her own experiences Luzonne firmly believes that couples deserve dignity and support in an untenable situation. As a Bereavement Doula Luzonne holds the sacred space for parents and their precious baby. She provides emotional, spiritual, physical and informational support to families experiencing pregnancy loss. Ensuring memories and mementos are created to minimize regrets as the couple moves through their grief journey.
