Parents of loss - Support group This is a support group for both mothers and fathers who have experienced the loss of their baby. The group aims to create a safe space where one can talk openly and without judgement about ones loss and struggles. It is a place to receive encouragement and support as you journey along your grief path. We meet once a month on a Wednesday evening from 19:00-20:30 in Garsfontein, Pretoria East. For more information on upcoming dates please contact Samala on 083 389 6929 Birth Debriefing Sometimes birth does not go as planned, debriefing allows a woman to share her birth story in a safe place. Allowing her to work through the emotions, releasing the fear, trauma, sadness, guilt or loss so that these emotions are not taken into the next birth. Bereavement Counselling After losing a baby, parents will have to cope with immense grief and a mixture of emotions, as well as the physical aspects of losing a baby. Therapy can help process the pain and acknowledge loss. Medical Termination of Pregnancy Receiving a fatal diagnosis or having your little one diagnosed with a syndrome is traumatic and overwhelming, especially if medical termination is being advised. Taking time to process, discuss and research is helpful to the grieving and decision-making process. Rushing such a life altering decision can add to your trauma. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for your to do just this, so that whatever your end decision is, you have more peace and less regrets. TIR (Trauma Incident Reduction) TIR is a rapid method of effectively reducing traumatic stress from emotionally and/or physically painful events in the past. Learn more about TIR |
